One Week to Go!

Wow, only 1 week left until I board a flight for Cape Town.

Backpack- packed, and less than 25 lbs with hope I can get it a little lighter.

Apartment- half packed (yes, I am procrastinating!) I signed a lease for storage yesterday and it is amazing (and slighly depressing) that your entire life can fit in a 5 X 7 space.

Since some are curious, the following are some of the spots I am hoping to hit on days 1-19 in South Africa:

- Table Mountain
- Robben Island (where Mandela was held)
- Boulders Beach which is full of mini penguins (cute!)
- Cape of Good Hope
- Vineyards in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek
- South Africa's ostrich capital, Oudtshoorn, where you can apparently ride one (wacky)
- Surfing at Jeffrey's Bay
- Bike tour of Soweto
- Visit to a diamond mine outside of J'berg

Help Me Choose a Vineyard in Italy

In late June/early July I will be volunteering at an organic vineyard in Italy learning how to make wine and olive oil (if only they could do cheese too!)

One Step Closer

My departure from Comedy Central is now official--- last day Wednesday, March 17th!

Guess it will be Monday?

The plan- resign today. 

And then there was snow. 

Guess it will have to wait until Monday now. :-(

On the plus side, the early close freed up some time to book my flight from New Zealand to Argentina just in time for New Year's Eve '11. 

Meet me in Buenos Aires for a Yerba Mate, empanada and churro.  I will be there starting Monday, December 27th.

47 Days and Counting!

After months of planning, it is now ONLY 47 days until the start of my year-long trip around-the-world.

First stop- Cape Town, South Africa (before all the soccer hooligans arrive)
